Serving Oyo Reps member shot dead by unknown gunmen

A serving House of Reps member in Oyo State, representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olatoye was reported to have been shot dead by unknown gunmen.

Olatoye Temitope, popularly known as ‘Sugar’ Sunday Vanguard learnt from a reliable source was shot in the eye at Iyana-Agbala area of Ibadan on Saturday by unknown gunmen believed to be sent by his political rival known as Hon. Adigun Ahmed, popularly known as “Murphy.”

It was revealed to reporters that before the incident, trouble had earlier ensued between the groups loyal to the duo, which finally led to the unslaught of the serving reps member.

Confirming the incident, his younger brother, Oladotun disclosed that Olatoye was truly shot and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital. But, investigation later revealed that he was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan and died a few hours later following injuries he sustained from the gunshot.

His death report was confirmed by the Public Relations Unit of the UCH, Ibadan, Oyo state. It would be recalled that Olatoye Sugar contested for Oyo South Senatorial district on the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP) but lost at the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on February 23.
